The castle was breached.
The gate had been torn down.
Young Princess Zelda watched in horror as countless monsters charged through the hole that was once blocked. Armed to the teeth, they rushed through, sweeping the area, slicing at the castle guards as they went. She gasped as they were coming straight for her.
That's when a whirl of black and white dashed before her and a powerful blast shot out towards the monsters, throwing them back and knocking several out.

Zelda shot her head at Impa..her bodyguard. And one of the fiercest warriors she knew.
Impa turned right around, "COME, your majesty! There's no time!"
Zelda did not argue; she followed right behind her as her bodyguard led her through the halls.

As they ran, a flash of light suddenly appeared and a little winged glowing orb hovered next to Impa's head. "This way!" It called and rushed far ahead of the two. Impa picked up the pace to catch up with it. "Accursed fairy! Slow DOWN!"
"Hurry!!" It persisted.

"Impa!!" Zelda screamed as two monsters jumped out and grabbed her.
Impa swiveled her head around, but before she could react, something suddenly burst out and destroyed the two fiends on the spot.
Both Zelda and Impa gave the culprit a glare.
The culprit was now flying through the air alongside Zelda..an imp from the Twilight Realm, with a wicked smile and a wicked heart to torture. "Did you two miss me?"
"Midna!" Impa exclaimed. "Where have YOU been?!"
"Taking care of the south side, it was filled with Ganondorf's goons!"
The very mention of his name brought her sudden rage.
"That horrid pest..what he's done to the Twilight Realm will not be forgotten!"
"If we make it out of this alive, I promise you, it won't."

They navigated along the path ahead, turning as they needed to.
The fairy led them hurriedly to a wide open space that did not yet have any foes.
"It's clear!" Impa gasped, surprised.
That's when the door ahead busted open and a swarm of creatures poured out.
The three jolted.
Zelda was about to step forward, when Midna abruptly grabbed her by the arm by reaching in with her large shape-shifting orange hair.
"Don't even think about it, Princess! They're only here for YOU."
Impa couldn't look away from the foes. "She's right, Zelda, don't forget..we can't risk them getting a hold of you!" "If they do, it's all over!"
Zelda shook her head, "I feel so helpless!"
"Don't worry..you won't feel that way for much longer." Impa was prepared to fend them off, lifting her sword up..when suddenly, several figures dropped from above and landed among the horde of beasts--where they then took out every single one by surprise, within seconds.
Cutting them down one by one.
As soon as they were dispatched, the leader of the mysterious fighters rose up, her long red ponytail flowing behind her, her dark skin glinting in the light.
"This area is now cleared. You can trust the Gerudo to defend it."
She and Impa bowed their heads at one another.

She and Impa bowed their heads at one another.
"Thank you, Nabooru..be safe."
Nabooru pointed her arm in the direction of the destination.
"Now go!"

They all ran to their left, speeding down the corridor that the fairy ushered them through.
"We're almost there!" Zelda cried.
Just then, a foe appeared out of nowhere..a stalfos, armored with a shield and sword, plates covering its skeleton body. It chuckled wickedly, as it bent down and held out its sword to attack.
The three skid to a stop, as the door next to the creature was the precise one they needed to go through. It chuckled once more as it stepped forward...
Right before an enormous hammer came down and slammed against its fragile body, crushing it to pieces, its bones scattering everywhere, soon vanishing into thin air.
The owner of the hammer stepped from the doorway, resting the weapon against his shoulder and smirking at the three. "'Bout time, my puny little friends."

The goron patriarch, Darunia, pounded his rock hard tan chest.
"I've kept this way free of beasties, while you all have kept us waiting for eons!"
"Oh, be quiet." Midna sassed, as the three of them rushed inside the room, the goron ushering them in. Zelda perked upon entering, where ahead of them stood the hero himself...Link.

"Link!" Zelda called. He turned, staring her way, sword and shield in hand, dressed in his signature green tunic. She smiled at the hero, relieved he was alright.
He lifted his chin, "Your majesty..."
She ran toward him, "Don't be so formal!"
She hugged him at that second, which took him by surprise.
Impa, Midna and Darunia smiled, looking away from the tender moment.
"Princess.." Impa pressed. Zelda knew what she was getting at.
She slowly pulled away from Link, but still had arms resting against his shoulders.
Her expression turned to one of hesitation and worry.
"Are you ready to do this?"
He swallowed and nodded his head.
She smiled warmly, nodding her head as well. "Then let's go."
The door, which Darunia had closed, was now being pounded on by the fiends outside.
He stood against it to prevent them from breaking in.
"We must hurry! They won't stop until they kill you both!"
Impa and Midna nodded at the hero and princess.
"If you go now, the fiends will stop attacking, long enough for our forces to get rid of them!"
The fairy explained.
She suddenly got close to Link's ear. "Link, I'm sorry..where you're going, I can't follow!"
Link gave his fairy companion a smile. "It's alright, Navi..we'll see eachother again soon."
Zelda glanced back at Impa, giving her a look of encouragement.
"We will come back..I promise."
Impa lifted her chin. "Be safe, Princess..I won't be able to protect you from now on."
She glanced at Link. "So look after eachother."
Midna smirked, waving her hair's enormous hand, while crossing her legs and resting her chin on her open palm as she was hovering in the air. "See ya later."
"Stay strong, brother!" Darunia yelled.
The two nodded and finally turned their heads at the enormous swirling gateway full of various dark colors, made entirely of energy. They held eachother's hands as they stood before it.
Zelda took a deep breath, closing her eyes. "Farewell, Hyrule.."
In that second, the two ran full force towards the Gateway and jumped in..passing right through it.
"NOW!"
Together, Impa and Midna threw their hands up and within seconds they sent a blast of power at the Gateway, causing it to overload little by little until..
it shattered into millions of pieces.
They all breathed a sigh of relief.
The doors were thrown open now that Darunia had stepped away, where the monstrous army of Ganondorf barreled through, ready to destroy. Until they suddenly froze in the middle of the room and saw the state of the Gateway. They stared in disbelief and great confusion.
One stalfos stood forward. "They..." He uttered.
"They...they're gone..."
The other monsters exchanged shocked glances, now not knowing what to do.
Impa slowly drew out her sword, her eyes gravitating to the skeleton.
"And soon..you shall be, as well."
She then sliced the creature in half.
And within minutes, Hyrule's forces destroyed their villainous invaders...
